Agra : A 35-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her husband following a domestic dispute at Jamuna Vihar Colony in Mathura district on Tuesday morning, police said. Jagdev (40) allegedly attacked his wife, Pooja Devi, during an argument and strangled her with a ‘chunari’, police said.

Mathura DSP Sandeep Singh said the forensic team and Jamunapar police had been directed to complete the necessary proceedings. “Necessary legal proceedings are underway,” he said. The incident took place around 11am under the Jamunapar police station area. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.”

The couple had been having domestic disputes over an issue for some time, according to the preliminary investigation. They had a heated argument the previous night, and the dispute allegedly escalated the following morning, leading to the fatal assault.

Police Investigate Woman’s Death in Jamunapar

A police team from the Jamunapar police station responded to reports from neighbors and family members regarding a woman’s death. Upon arrival, they were accompanied by a forensic field unit. The woman’s body was secured and transported to the district hospital for a postmortem examination following the completion of inquest proceedings.
