Bulandshahr : A 35-year-old man was allegedly beaten with a hammer and stabbed to death by a woman and her husband in Baghpat early Wednesday after she called him to the spot. Police suspect an alleged extramarital affair and subsequent blackmail triggered the killing. Locals caught the couple and handed them over to the police.
Investigators said Sonia allegedly called Deependra to the spot, where she and Rahul attacked him with a hammer and knife, inflicting severe injuries to his chest and neck that killed him at the scene. Police identified the victim as Deependra Kumar, a resident of Shikohpur village in Baraut tehsil, and the accused couple as Rahul and Sonia .
CO Anshu Jain said, “Preliminary investigation indicates that the woman had been in a relationship with Deependra for around two months. Deependra had recorded objectionable photographs and videos of her and was using them to blackmail her. We are examining blackmail as a possible motive and questioning both accused to establish the sequence of events and circumstances leading to the killing.”
