Around 600 Ganapati mandals across the city have already applied for permissions from the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), though approvals are yet to be issued. The mayor also announced prizes worth Rs1.25 lakh each for the six divisions of the municipal corporation for best Ganesh decoration. The civic body will distribute prizes worth a total of Rs7.5 lakh.
The online permission process had slowed down amid uncertainty over charges and pending no-objection certificates (NOCs) from various authorities. They also raised concerns over delays in obtaining temporary electricity connections from MSEDCL. In response, Aher directed the MSEDCL officials to appoint a coordinator to streamline the approval process. The new system enables mandals to obtain all mandatory no-objection certificates (NOCs) and approvals through a single platform instead of approaching multiple departments separately. Permissions related to the fire brigade, NMC’s public works department, traffic police and other authorities are to be processed through the online portal.
