Police officials said a separate inquiry has also been launched to examine compliance with worker safety measures at the construction site.

The incident took place around 8.30pm on Wednesday at “Boski The Empire” commercial project. All the trapped workers were rescued following an overnight operation by fire and rescue teams, officials said. Twelve labourers were trapped after a slab and beam section between two structures gave way during construction activity. Police have begun examining CCTV footage from the site to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine whether any negligence contributed to the collapse. Following the incident, an R&B department team inspected the site and started reviewing its structural design and technical aspects. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), supported by a dog squad and specialised equipment, were deployed for rescue and debris-clearing operations.

Gandhinagar : Further legal action in connection with the collapse of a slab at an under-construction commercial building in Kudasan will depend on the findings of a structural assessment being conducted by the Road and Building (R&B) department, Gandhinagar SP Ravi Teja Vasamshetty said on Thursday.
