In Kanpur, the Chief Minister’s Farmers’ Accident Welfare Scheme is providing crucial financial assistance to farming families who have experienced the loss of loved ones due to accidents. This initiative aims to alleviate the economic burden faced by these families in their time of need.
Since the financial year 2025-26, around 509 claims have been settled under the scheme and a sum of Rs 23,84,40,000 has been transferred to the accounts of the eligible beneficiaries and the dependants of the deceased. In the financial year 2025-26, a sum of Rs 16,56,90,000 was paid against 341 claims. Meanwhile, in the financial year 2026-27, assistance amounting to Rs 7,27,50,000 has been provided against 168 claims so far.

District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh stated that in accordance with the govt policy, it must be ensured that the benefits of the ‘Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana’ reach every eligible farming family. No eligible family or dependent should be deprived of the scheme’s benefits solely on the grounds of technicalities or incomplete information.
