Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviews preparations for Sewa se Sankalp programme to mark 25 years of PM Narendra Modi in public life
Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday reviewed preparations for the month-long ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan’ to be held from Sept 17 to Oct 17 across the country to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s public life. Officials informed chief minister that a databank of development works undertaken by Centre over the past 12 years and by state govt over the past 10 years has been compiled. The material is planned to be taken to 4.19 crore families, covering 15.74 crore beneficiaries, as part of outreach activities during the campaign. The programme will begin on Sept 17, coinciding with Prime Minister’s birthday, with ‘Sewa Diwas: Aashirwad Ka Diya,’ under which lamps will be lit at the homes of beneficiaries and at sites of major development projects. With Vishwakarma Jayanti also falling on Sept 17, Vishwakarma Puja will be organised in all assembly constituencies and toolkits will be distributed to artisans. Under ‘Namo Sewa: Ankahi Kahaniyan,’ street plays will be held in villages and cities to highlight Prime Minister’s 25 years of social and public life.
In Uttar Pradesh , the programmes will be organised through govt departments and BJP organisations. In the presence of BJP state president and Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary and state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal, Yogi directed that extensive public participation be ensured. He instructed all ministers in charge to visit their respective districts and assembly constituencies to assess readiness and coordinate implementation. Dharmveer Prajapati has been designated minister in charge for the day’s events. As part of month-long activities, painting and speech competitions will be organised in schools, while speech and debate competitions will be held in higher educational institutions. Sandeep Singh has been appointed minister in charge for these programmes.
