AT&T outage reports reached nearly 6,000
On August 30, the group claimed it would target more critical infrastructure. APT IRAN said: The AT&T outage was first reported Monday, September 7 morning, according to Threat Beat. Customer reports began rising at about 2:18 a.m, according to Downdetector data cited by WFAA. A larger increase was recorded from around 10:30 a.m. Reports reached a peak of 5,990 shortly before 3 p.m. The number of reports then dropped quickly, with the outage mostly resolved by around 6 p.m.
APT IRAN is closely linked to CyberAv3ngers, a group affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Threat Beat. The group said earlier attacks in late July targeted water systems in Minnesota, Michigan, Georgia, New Jersey, South Dakota and Arkansas. It then said those attacks were intended to warn about its ability to target critical US infrastructure.
APT IRAN has previously claimed attacks against water systems in several US states.
