Mysuru: Hullahalli police have taken up a case of murder two days after a woman died at a hospital due to injuries sustained in an alleged assault.
This comes after the woman’s family protested in front of the police station demanding action against Naveen from the same village for allegedly attacking the former over a financial dispute Mahadevamma’s daughter Geetha had claimed that there was an attempt to hush up the case by offering cash. It was also alleged that efforts were made to force a settlement and the money was supposedly handed over in the presence of police.
Mahadevamma, 64, was being treated for injuries sustained in an assault on Sept 6. Ppolice registered a case of murder against Naveen and others and also booked them under the provisions of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, and launched a probe.
