Varanasi: A 22-year-old youth was allegedly beaten to death by three individuals with iron rods on Friday morning at Ramdayalganj market under the Line Bazaar police station area of Jaunpur district.

The deceased, Vishal Yadav, was allegedly killed over an old rivalry, according to police. Eyewitnesses said the accused surrounded Vishal and repeatedly struck him with iron rods, resulting in his death. Two of the accused have been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to arrest the third. After receiving information, ASP City Ayush Srivastava and ASP Rural Atish Kumar reached the spot with a police force and pacified the family members. Heavy police deployment, along with a SWAT surveillance team, has been stationed in the area in view of the tense situation.

Tension Escalates After Body Placed on Jaunpur-Mariahu Route

Following a reported killing, tensions have risen in the local area. In response, family members placed the deceased’s body on the Jaunpur-Mariahu route. This action led to significant traffic delays, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides of the road.
