Varanasi: Three faculty members of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have been elected Fellows of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) for 2026.

Three Professors Recognized for Scientific Excellence

Prof. Shashi Pandey from the Centre of Advanced Study in Botany, Prof. Prakash Kumar Singh of the Department of Geology, and Prof. Rajendra Kumar Singh, Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at the Institute of Science, have been awarded for their significant contributions to scientific research and academic excellence. This recognition highlights their impactful work in their respective fields, underscoring the importance of innovation and scholarship in advancing scientific knowledge.

The NASI fellowship will take effect from Jan 1, 2027. The annual session of NASI, along with the induction ceremony for the newly elected Fellows, will be held at BHU from Dec 4 to 6.
