Nitin Nagar, preparing for Delhi Police recruitment, was shot dead in Hastinapur, just 400 metres from the police station. After protests, a bulldozer action began at the house of accused Satya Chaudhary alias Mittu.
MEERUT: Authorities on Saturday demolished alleged illegal constructions at the houses of three men accused of murdering a 24-year-old man in Hastinapur, police said. After police officials spent the night trying to persuade them, around 500 people gathered at Ganeshpur Tiraha around 7am on Saturday and blocked the road, placing Nitin’s body there.
Police said six assailants riding two motorcycles attacked him and one of the bullets hit his leg. Superintendent of police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar told PTI that the alleged illegal constructions at the houses of three accused, i.e., Utsav Yadav, Mitthu and Goldie, were demolished during the action. He suffered heavy blood loss and died. A heavy police force was deployed in the area.
Nitin, a resident of Manganagar village under Bahsuma police station, was shot dead on Friday afternoon near Hastinapur police station.
Following the murder, Nitin’s family initially refused to allow his body to be taken for post-mortem.
