The opening round of the Indian Racing Festival 2026 was held at Kari Motor Speedway. Earlier in the first race, South Africa’s Luviwe Sambudla won after starting eighth, while Kyriakou finished second and Mehta third. Kabir Sahoch won all three races in the amateur category, while newcomer Senthil Kumar completed a three-race sweep in the professional category.
Meanwhile, Mehta drove to limelight by becoming the championship’s youngest-ever pole-sitter. The sixth season of the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup also began at the circuit. Both championships will return to Kari Motor Speedway for round two.
Coimbatore: Australian driver Aris Kyriakou finished on top of the podium in race three and finished second in the other two races to lead the F4 Indian Championship standings at the conclusion of the opening round, featuring three races at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on Sunday.
