Agra: Tension reigned at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Monday as hostel students launched a vociferous protest against deteriorating living conditions, citing severe lapses in mess hygiene and campus sanitation.

The situation escalated on Monday when members of the university’s proctorial team arrived at the scene to intervene. During the confrontation on Monday morning, a heated exchange broke out, with protesters alleging that members of the proctorial team manhandled and pushed them as they attempted to voice their grievances.
