Charani played a key role in India’s Asia Cup final win over Sri Lanka, taking four wickets for 20 runs at the Dubai International Stadium. The left-arm spinner has crossed the 800-point mark for the first time and reached a career-best 804 rating points. Charani has gone past Mithali Raj ’s previous record of 780 points in the batting rankings, which she achieved in 2011. Australia’s Megan Schutt holds the record with 806 points, which she reached in November 2018. Shafali scored 64 in the semi-final and 68 in the final. Her performances have taken her to 741 rating points, her highest since October 2021. Mandhana is fifth with 745 points after scoring 213 runs in five innings. She has reached a career-best 221 rating points.
Shree Charani has strengthened her position at the top of the bowling rankings, while Shafali Verma has moved back into the top six among batters. It is the highest rating points achieved by an Indian in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings in both batting and bowling. She is now just two points away from the highest rating ever achieved by a women’s T20I bowler. She is now just one place and four points behind teammate Smriti Mandhana. Shafali has also moved up five places to 15th in the all-rounders’ rankings.
