Bijnor: Two men were arrested following a joint raid at an illegal firecracker factory, which also manufactured ammunition for guns, in Chaukpuri village area of Bijnor district on Tuesday.

Police said the raw material was reportedly supplied by Amjad, a resident of Osmanabad, Maharashtra, while the enterprise was allegedly financed by Rizwan Ahmad Ansari—Gufran’s brother, who is currently based in Saudi Arabia. The arrested individuals are Mohammad Yusuf and Gufran Ahmad Ansari, both hailing from Nahtaur. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to renting the Bajrang Firecracker facility to produce sutli bombs and unauthorised ammunition. Police noted that all raw material and finished goods were being traded without bills or legal documentation, and a thorough probe is underway to track all connected parties.

Bijnor SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said local police, revenue officials, the Fire Safety Service Organisation and a field unit carried out the inspection on Monday following a tip-off.
