Chennai: The DMK on Tuesday postponed its Mupperum Vizha, scheduled to be held at the party headquarters in the evening, after party president and former chief minister M K Stalin fell ill.
The annual event commemorates the birth anniversaries of party founder and former chief minister C N Annadurai on Sept 15 and social reformer ‘Periyar’ E V Ramasamy on Sept 17, besides marking the DMK’s foundation day on Sept 17. DMK general secretary Duraimurugan told mediapersons that the event had been postponed as Stalin was unwell. “The leadership will announce a fresh date for the event soon,” he said. The event was expected to be attended by senior party leaders and functionaries. Download the TOI App.
