Brother ‘pays Rs 6 lakh to 3 men to kill sibling’ in Amroha; 4 held
Police said Rishipal allegedly paid the three men Rs 6 lakh to carry out the killing.
Investigators said the three men took Jogendra from his home around 8pm and later killed him before concealing his body in a field belonging to Rajendra Nagar in Augarpur village under Adampur police station. Police identified the victim as Jogendra Kumar, a farmer, and the accused as his elder brother Rishipal Singh and Dariyapur Tugan residents Brijpal, Virpal and Tejpal. Police also recovered the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime and produced all four accused before a court for further legal proceedings.
Bijnor : Amroha police on Tuesday said they had solved the murder of a 35-year-old man after arresting four people, including his elder brother, who allegedly paid Rs 6 lakh to three men to kill him following repeated family disputes over his alcohol addiction and plans to sell land. The victim had been taken from his home on a motorcycle on Sept 11 and was found dead in a field the next day.
Adampur SHO Komal Tomar, who led the investigation, said Rishipal allegedly planned the murder after growing angry over his brother’s drinking and frequent quarrels with family members. “Jogendra wanted to sell his land after drinking, which had led to repeated disputes within the family,” Tomar said.
Police initially registered a case on the complaint of Jogendra’s father under BNS Section 103(1) (murder), while a field unit and dog squad examined the crime scene and senior officers inspected the spot. During the investigation, police invoked Sections 238(1) (causing disappearance of evidence or giving false information to screen an offender) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) against the three alleged assailants, while Rishipal faced Sections 103(1) (murder) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy).
