Lucknow: In a significant push towards digital learning, the state cabinet on Tuesday allocated Rs 300 crore for setting up smart classrooms in 14,429 primary schools across the state.
Officials said the initiative is intended to bridge the digital divide and make classroom instruction more engaging, interactive and effective for students. The smart classroom ecosystem will include teacher training, installation support, maintenance services, warranty coverage and a dedicated helpdesk system, according to the proposal. The cabinet approved Shreetron India Limited as the implementing agency for the project. The procurement of the equipment will be done through a centralised mechanism to ensure uniform quality standards and efficient deployment across participating schools.
Implementation of Smart Classrooms in Primary Schools
Officials have announced that primary schools will be equipped with smart classrooms for the first time, aimed at enhancing the teaching experience. These measures are designed to improve the technology infrastructure and support educators in effectively utilizing digital tools during lessons.
The selection of schools for this initiative was based on enrollment figures, ensuring that resources are allocated where they are most needed. The goal is to provide teachers with digital resources that make learning more engaging and enjoyable for students.
