The couple is trying to add fencing around parts of their $5.35 million lakefront property in Bratenahl, Ohio, but the plans have yet to receive approval from the village’s Architectural Review Board, according to the Daily Mail . The 3.5-acre estate sits along Lake Erie and includes a roughly 21,000-square-foot mansion with eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a guest cottage, a pool, and a converted ballroom that now serves as a game room and home theater. Fences along the lakefront generally cannot be higher than 2.5 feet unless they are at least 75 percent see-through, according to the Daily Mail.
Because lakefront properties face strict restrictions, bratenahl’s rules are particularly important.
One of those neighbors, Eric Stephenson, previously told the board that maintaining the open space and lake views was important to him. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ’s plans to make their new Ohio mansion more private have hit another roadblock as their proposed fencing continues to face scrutiny from local officials and neighbors. Kelce purchased the massive property through an LLC in March. The privacy plans reportedly started with a much bigger proposal. The rules are designed to protect the area’s shoreline, views of Lake Erie, and property values. Another neighbor, Katherine Bolton, similarly spoke about preserving Bratenahl’s open vistas and historic character.
