Nagpur: If a notice for a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) hearing pops up on your WhatsApp, don’t dismiss it as just another message. The Nagpur district election administration on Thursday said notices would be sent on WhatsApp and voters receiving them must appear for their scheduled hearing with the required documents.
Earlier reporting noted: Taking Oct 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, he said officials must obtain the prescribed declaration form for all pending Form 6 applications as well as those received in the future. The administration has simultaneously asked every citizen to check whether their name appears in the draft electoral roll. Names can be searched through the Election Commission’s electoral search facility and the Nagpur district administration website.
Certain govt or local authority documents issued before July 1, 1987, and NRC records where applicable are also among the listed documents. Because of no-mapping or logical anomalies must attend the hearing, the administration said voters whose names already figure in the draft roll but have received notices. Authorities will assign the date and time. For verification, the administration has listed documents including central or state govt/PSU identity cards or pension orders, birth certificates, passports, matriculation or educational certificates, permanent residence certificates, Forest Rights certificates, caste certificates, Family Register records and land or house allotment certificates.
