NEW DELHI: Police are probing the killing of a 31-year-old HR professional who went to Gurgaon on September 6 to meet his former colleague Anya Vats, was shot twice inside his own car and his body was kept in the vehicle for at least seven hours before being dumped in a drain, while the accused fled to Uttarakhand. His sister approached Lajpat Nagar police on September 11, following which a missing-person FIR was registered. Police have arrested Anya Vats and her partner Sanyam Sachdeva, both from Gurgaon, in connection with the alleged murder and produced in court, which sent them to five days’ police custody. Call records, CCTV led police to Anya Police showed photographs of the body to Yuvraj’s family, who identified him.
Family lost contact after Gurgaon meeting Yuvraj had gone to a restaurant in Lajpat Nagar around 4pm on September 6.
His family said he had gone shopping with his sisters before visiting the restaurant. He later told them he had a meeting in Gurgaon and asked his sisters to take a cab home before leaving. The family spoke to Yuvraj around 7pm, when he said he would return home by 10pm, according to the complaint.
His phone then appeared to be switched off and the family could not reach him.
