His achievement follows a silver medal at DG NCC Shooting Championship held in Tiruchirappalli

Belagavi : Yogaraj Maruti Ramagonatti, a student of KLE Society’s Lingaraj College and Senior Under Officer of the NCC unit, won a gold medal in the junior shooting category at the 35th GV Mavlankar National Shooting Championship, held in Mohali, Punjab , from Sept 12 to 22. Yogaraj scored 529 out of 600 points to secure the gold medal. A cadet of the 26 Karnataka NCC Battalion, Yogaraj became the first NCC cadet from Karnataka this year to win a gold medal in the junior category of the GV Mavlankar National Shooting Championship, bringing recognition to the state. KLE Society chairman Amit Kore, Belagavi Group commander Col C Rajasekhar, commanding officer of 26 Karnataka NCC Battalion Col Sunil Dagar, adjutant officer Lt Col Siddharth Redu, Subedar Major Kallappa Patil, KLE secretary Sunil Jalalpure, joint secretary Prakash Kadakol, Lingaraj College principal HS Melinmani, principal Girija Hiremath, NCC officer Major Mahesh Guranagoudar and staff congratulated Yogaraj on his achievement.

His achievement follows a silver medal at DG NCC Shooting Championship held in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, last month.
