He assured them of assistance for their treatment and said help would also be arranged for further medical care. The injured were identified as Narendra Gaikwad, Mehboob Sheikh and Vishal Vasane. Gaikwad, who suffered serious burn injuries, was shifted to the govt hospital in Kalwa for further treatment. Sheikh and Vasane are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kalyan. Fire brigade officials, led by chief Namdev Chaudhary, rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and brought the blaze under control. The ownership details of the welding shop were not immediately available. Shiv Sena corporator Mahesh Gaikwad also visited the spot and later met the injured at the private hospital.
