A Village Sakhi, part of the UMED campaign, raised the national flag at a Gram Panchayat in Selu, located in the Parbhani district. This event highlights the active involvement of community representatives in promoting national pride and local governance.
The initiative, supported by Parbhani guardian minister and BJP leader Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, saw enthusiastic participation by women across all 49 panchayats.
Block Development Officer Uday Jadhav said the initiative by the Selu Panchayat Samiti aimed to promote rural women’s leadership. Hence, Village Sakhis were given the honour of hoisting the tricolour where administrators could not reach,” he said.
