Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : A 20-year-old youth wanted in connection with the murder of his friend in New Delhi was arrested by the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar crime branch at Karnpura ground in the Cantonment area on Wednesday, following a request from Delhi police . A case was registered at Tilak Marg police station in New Delhi on Sept 16.

Police commissioner Pravin Pawar said technical analysis helped the crime branch track the accused’s movements. Later that day, a Delhi police special staff sub-inspector and his team sought assistance from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar crime branch to trace Ahirwar. Acting on the inputs, assistant police inspector Prashant Gambhirrao and his team conducted searches in Waluj, Golwadi, Wadrangabad and Pandharpur.

Murder Investigation: Rakesh Ahirwar Accused of Killing Friend in Delhi

Rakesh Biharilal Ahirwar, a resident of Pandara Park near India Gate, has been accused of murdering his friend, Sunny Rajvirlal, on September 13 in Delhi. Following the alleged crime, Ahirwar reportedly concealed Rajvirlal’s body in a hut adjacent to the victim’s residence. After the incident, he fled to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder.

Murder Suspect Transferred to Delhi Police Following Admission

Crime branch inspector Gajanan Kalyankar reported that suspect Ahirwar confessed to the murder during interrogation. After confirming his identity, the crime branch has transferred him to the Delhi Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
