Chennai: More than 25 passengers were injured after a TNSTC bus collided with a private bus

Chennai: More than 25 passengers were injured after a TNSTC bus collided with a private bus near Vadakkupattu on the Sriperumbudur-Oragadam highway in Kancheepuram district on Saturday morning.

Police said the TNSTC bus was taking more than 40 passengers from Chengalpet to Tiruvallur and was driven by Loganathan, of Chengalpet. More than 25 passengers in the two buses suffered injuries in the collision.

Police said a private factory bus carrying workers suddenly came across the road. Police said the TNSTC bus was travelling at a moderate speed at the time of the accident. Unable to avoid the vehicle, Loganathan crashed into its side. Locals alerted the Oragadam police, who took injured passengers to govt hospitals in Chengalpet and Sriperumbudur. The collision damaged the side portion of the TNSTC bus, including the body panels and the lower section near the wheels. The private bus also suffered severe damage. A case was registered.
