Kolkata: India Post has been tasked with the transportation of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets and question booklets to various exam centres. This service is set to support the upcoming third-semester examinations for Higher Secondary students, which are scheduled to commence on Monday.
West Bengal Council Enhances Answer Sheet Security
Mosiur Rahaman Sardar, the president of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, announced a collaboration with India Post to improve the security and transit of answer sheets. This partnership aims to ensure that the handling of these materials is efficient and secure during the examination process.
Working with the local administration and council officials, question papers were delivered to the custodians, and on the day of every exam, the venue supervisor, under police protection, brought the question papers to the exam venues.
Earlier, the question papers and answer sheets were sent via Indian Railways. This time, the entire process has been streamlined to be ferried by India Post, and before the exams, confidential material will be handed to the custodians at the nearest post offices.
A total of 7.2 lakh candidates will appear for the third semester or first part of the Higher Secondary examinations, up from 6.6 lakh candidates last year. The exam will be held from 11 am to 12.30 pm at 2,105 venues.
