Vijayapura : A 30-year-old man was injured after allegedly being shot during a quarrel at a petrol bunk in Mattihal village under the Kolhar police station limits in Vijayapura district on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Sangappa Poojary, 48, the owner of the petrol bunk, according to Vijayapura SP Laxman Nimbargi. The injured man has been identified as Sukhadev Chalawadi, 30. His friend, Raju Chalawadi, 40, was also present at the time of the incident.
The SP said Sukhadev and Raju had visited the petrol bunk when an argument reportedly broke out between them and the owner over an issue. The scene of crime officers team inspected the spot, and Kolhar police have taken up further investigation, the SP said. During the altercation, Sangappa allegedly opened fire with his licensed pistol, injuring Sukhadev. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and secured the accused.
