Belagavi : In a bid to ease traffic congestion during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations, the Belagavi City Police Commissionerate has introduced special traffic management measures, including a digital platform that helps devotees locate Ganesh pandals and designated parking facilities across the city.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at curbing illegal parking near pandals, reducing congestion at key junctions and improving overall traffic management during the festival. With thousands of visitors from Belagavi and neighbouring areas thronging public Ganesh mandals every day, police have identified and earmarked parking spaces near major pandals to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent roadside parking. The GPS-enabled platform allows users to easily locate nearby Ganesh mandals and the designated parking areas in their vicinity. By using the digital facility, motorists can park their vehicles at authorised locations and avoid inconvenience. In a release, the Police Commissionerate appealed to citizens and devotees to make use of the online service and cooperate with traffic regulations to ensure the festival is celebrated in a safe, orderly and peaceful manner.
