The Mahalunge-Maan Township Residents’ Association has raised 12 specific issues causing problems for residents in the area. These include the development of a 24-metre road and a 36-metre road connecting with Hinjewadi IT Park and Sus-Mahalunge-Hinjewadi road. “We wrote a letter to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on July 9 regarding these issues but did not receive any response. We have done multiple follow-ups with the authorities and held a peaceful protest on Aug 22.
“Mahalunge and Maan have seen a rapid rise in residential townships in the past few years due to their proximity to Hinjewadi IT Park.
The association has said these roads should be developed either through regional plans or Mahalunge-Maan Town Planning Scheme. The current roads and traffic management have not been up to the mark to accommodate the needs of residents,” a resident said. Now, we will seek intervention from the chief minister’s office,” Kute said.
