Darjeeling : Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), an ally of BJP, has sought CM Suvendu Adhikari’s intervention and an independent probe into around 280 Jal Jeevan Mission projects implemented through Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA). The letter was signed by GJM president Bimal Gurung , general secretary Roshan Giri and Darjeeling MLA Neeraj Zimba.

In a letter to the CM, GJM said a six-member survey team had inspected projects at Chotta Pubung, Dhotria, Goke and Relling and found that household taps were not receiving regular water supply and several constructed tanks and reservoirs were lying empty. Our complaint aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of JJM in the Hills and to protect public funds from misuse,” Giri said. Alleging financial, technical and administrative irregularities, GJM questioned whether the projects were actually delivering drinking water to beneficiaries. “We emailed the CM to inform him of the issue.
