There are around 70,000 posts currently vacant in the state. In the last two years, 1.2 lakh posts have been filled, including 51,000 in the police department, said sources.
Sources said the CM informed the cabinet that a record number of posts will be filled in the near future. Fadnavis said the govt is making efforts to fill a record number of posts across all cadres, including Group C posts. He said a decision will be made soon on whether to establish a separate mechanism for recruitment to posts in local self-govt institutions or to conduct such recruitments through Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
Mumbai: A strong demand for Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exams to be conducted through the multiple-choice (objective) method instead of the descriptive format is being raised before the committee headed by ACS V Radha, CM Devendra Fadnavis informed the state cabinet on Tuesday.
