Samsung recently introduced its 2026 Bespoke AI appliance portfolio, highlighting how its unified intelligence technology connects kitchens, living rooms, climate systems and laundry care into a single automated smart home ecosystem. One of the showcases at the launch was the deeper integration between Google Gemini and Samsung AI Vision and how this expanded smart home capabilities aim to help users with tasks such as real-time item identification and automated food inventory management in its Bespoke refrigerator.
Samsung Enhances Smart Appliances with Gemini AI
At ‘The Brief Gurugram’ event, Ghufran Alam, Vice President of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung India, outlined how the company’s Gemini AI is advancing its smart appliance technology. He highlighted the Family Hub refrigerator as a key example of how Gemini enhances the functionality of Samsung’s products. While Samsung already has its own AI capabilities, Alam emphasized that Gemini improves the underlying technology that operates these appliances.

“Previously, the appliance relied on on-device AI that came with clear hardware limits.
Samsung framed its updated portfolio around multiple fundamental pillars designed to adapt to everyday routines.
With Gemini, it has expanded to most of the things,” he added, while explaining that now users can put any kind of beverage or vegetable, “the system recognizes it. So before Gemini collaboration with AI Vision, the experience was limited to certain food products and certain labeling. “And this is cloud AI. So, the technology distinguishes the products through AI Vision, the camera embedded in the refrigerator. That gives users access to a larger food category, their expiry date and they intimate you. That’s the beauty of AI, ‘This product is going to expire in next one week. If you want to use it, here is the recipe. Then you can take the recipes and you can go to the cloud,” he added. This includes Built-in SmartThings connectivity that streamlines household chores. The second is the WindFree air conditioning line incorporates AI Energy Mode for quiet, low-power operation. The ‘Wearable Good Sleep’ setting works in tandem with Galaxy Wearables to track the stages of sleep and adjust temperatures accordingly, while Triple Motion Wings direct airflow to specific locations.
