Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Ganesh festival in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has evolved beyond celebrations, emerging as a large-scale public health outreach initiative, benefiting 67,897 citizens this festive season so far. Under ‘Shri Ganesha Aarogyacha’ campaign, spearheaded by Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Cell and Charitable Hospital Help Desk, 1,195 health camps have been held across Ganesh mandals in the district. The screenings covered 25,594 men, 31,059 women and 11,244 children, highlighting strong participation across all age groups.
During Ganeshotsav, mandals become community hubs, making them ideal locations for health interventions,” said Rameshwar Naik, head of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Cell and Charitable Hospital Help Desk. With support from Govt Medical College, District Hospital, local bodies and charitable hospitals, doctors and paramedical teams have been deployed across the district,” he said. Health department officials said the camps offered screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and common ailments, while also providing awareness on lifestyle diseases, maternal health and child healthcare. If a patient requires surgery or long-term treatment, the Charitable Hospital Help Desk helps facilitate the process,” Gore said.

Eligible patients are being connected to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for assistance with medical expenses. “Our teams are not just conducting check-ups. They are creating health records and ensuring follow-up care.
