The ambassador accompanied us to Dilli Haat where she bought gifts for her family

Just a few days after Diwali, on November 11, we celebrate St Martin’s Day, which marks the end of the harvest season.
the ambassador says, “In Switzerland, the Indian community celebrates Diwali in cities like Zurich, Geneva and Basel, and more and more Swiss friends and neighbours are joining in While talking about lighting diyas with her husband and managing the final touches to the marigold decorations. Sharing a message with Indian friends, Swiss Ambassador says, “On behalf of Switzerland and the entire embassy team, I wish all of India a very happy, safe and prosperous Diwali. “I will celebrate with my family, the embassy team and friends in New Delhi. I hope to visit a diya market again and pick up some lamps for the residence. I would also like to spend some quiet time at home with family and friends, with the lights on and good food on the table. I am already looking forward to it,” she tells us, sharing her Diwali plans for this year. The idea of light overcoming darkness resonates with us too. Children walk through the streets with colourful lanterns, lighting up the early winter evenings. So, when we see the diyas and lights of Diwali, it feels familiar. Light brings people together in both our cultures. May the light of the diyas bring happiness and good health to every home, and may the friendship between Switzerland and India continue to grow brighter.”
