Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel launches 7 crop protection products under ‘Sardar’ brand
The seven products launched are Sardar Sathi, Sardar Raftaar, Sardar Toofani Fipro, Sardar Jandaar, Sardar Aadhaar, Sardar G-Gold and Sardar Senapati.
Chief minister Bhupendra Patel , who launched the products at an event in Gandhinagar , said the seven crop protection solutions reflected the state’s focus on “developed agriculture for a developed Gujarat” and lauded GSFC’s role in promoting technology-driven, efficient and sustainable agriculture. He said strengthening farmers’ prosperity would help strengthen the rural economy and, in turn, the wider economy. The products are intended to protect crops against pests and weeds and will be made available through Kisan Suvidha Kendras and GSFC’s authorised distribution network, an official statement said. Patel said GSFC’s new initiatives could help farmers improve the quality and value of their produce, facilitate processing and strengthen access to global markets. He said the company’s work across balanced crop nutrition, bio-fertilisers and other agricultural inputs would help provide farmers with timely and reliable crop protection solutions. Agriculture minister Jitu Vaghani said the new pesticides had been developed to provide protection against pests for a limited period before degrading in the soil, and urged farmers to use chemical pesticides only in the required quantity.
