Lucknow/Gautam Budh Nagar : UPITS has evolved into a vital bridge connecting the state’s artisans and entrepreneurs with global markets, state MSME minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said on Friday.
Addressing the inaugural session of the trade show’s fourth edition, Chaudhary said the event features over 2,400 stalls across sectors including defence, agriculture, IT, textiles and GI products, with more than 600 international buyers from 90 countries participating. The scheme now covers 25 trades and provides collateral-free, interest-free credit support. The trade show is expected to attract more than five lakh visitors. Highlighting the state’s industrial footprint, the minister noted that UP leads the country with over one crore registered MSME units, employing more than three crore people — making the sector the largest employment generator after agriculture. Chaudhary added that under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, more than six lakh artisans have received skill training and advanced toolkits. Download the TOI App.
