The clarification follows concerns raised after the release of the draft syllabus that important topics such as “Lines and Angles” and “Euclid’s Geometry” have been dropped. Ahmedabad : The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has clarified concerns over the draft Class IX Mathematics syllabus, stating that key topics have not been removed but have been redistributed and integrated into other chapters. After reviewing suggestions from stakeholders and subject experts, NCERT and the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) are expected to release the final syllabus in Oct. The debate over the draft syllabus centred on concerns that the removal of standalone geometry chapters could weaken students’ understanding of foundational concepts.
