Agra: A 45-year-old property dealer was allegedly killed by his nephew and two others in Agra’s Shahi village over Rs 12 lakh from a recent land sale and concerns over inheritance, police said on Sunday. All three accused have been arrested.
Police identified the accused as Dushyant alias Malinga, 21, and his two aides, Shiva and Yash , both in their early 20s. Investigators said Dharamveer had recently sold a piece of land for Rs 12 lakh. DCP (West) Aditya, who goes by first name, said that on the night of Sept 24-25, Dushyant and Shiva were already at Dharamveer’s house, while Yash allegedly alerted them when the victim arrived. An FIR was registered under BNS Sections 103 (murder) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence…).
Police said an argument between the two over the issue was followed by a plan to kill Dharamveer. “The duo then attacked him with a brick and strangled him to death,” the DCP said. He was unmarried and lived alone in a portion of the house he shared with his nephew’s father. Dushyant, who was facing financial difficulties, allegedly feared that his uncle would not give him a share of the money or leave him any of his remaining properties. Police found clothes allegedly worn by the accused on the night of the murder and the brick suspected to have been used in the attack.
Dharamveer Singh was found dead at his home under Achhnera police station limits on Friday.
