Around 14,000 students are expected to participate in 249 events
Students securing A, B and C grades at the festival will receive 20, 15 and 10 grace marks respectively.
The minister also said appropriate decisions would be taken regarding the appointment of arts teachers, along the lines of the recent change in the student-teacher ratio for physical education teachers. Sixty-five traditional parasols, folk art forms and traditional musical performances were part of the procession, marking the 65th edition of the festival. On Tuesday, a cultural procession involving students from various schools was held from St Anthony’s School, Kacheripady, to Town Hall ahead of the meeting.
Kochi : The 65th State School Kalolsavam will be held in Ernakulam from Jan 4 to 8, with Marine Drive as the main venue and 27 other venues hosting events. The festival is returning to Ernakulam after a gap of 20 years. Around 14,000 students are expected to participate in 249 events. School-level competitions will be completed by Wednesday, sub-district competitions by Oct 30 and district-level competitions by Nov 30, general education minister N Samsudheen said.
