Pune: Two women, including a former sarpanch, were found murdered while sleeping in their house in Sherechiwadi in Baramati on Tuesday morning.
The police identified the deceased as former sarpanch Indumati Ladkat (75) and her relative Krishnabai Ladkat (55), residents of Sherechiwadi. Police have registered a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). However, nothing else was stolen from the house,” assistant police inspector Shashikant Shelke of Supa police station told TOI. Indumati’s two sons live in other cities, while Krishnabai’s son lives separately in the same village,” Shelke said. “Around 7 am, when Krishnabai’s granddaughter came looking for her, she found their blood-soaked bodies and alerted villagers,” he added.
