Senior BJP leaders, ministers and public representatives inspecting the proposed rally venue at Jagatpur on Wednesday
Varanasi: BJP national president Nitin Nabin will address a public meeting in Varanasi on Oct 7.
The rally is scheduled to be held at the Jagatpur Inter College ground in Jagatpur, Rohania, with the party setting a target of mobilising around 50,000 people. He said the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra, which began on Sep 17 from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthplace Vadnagar, will conclude in Varanasi on Oct 7. Minister of state with independent charge JPS Rathore said 500 bike riders from the yatra will reach Varanasi on Oct 7 and will be accorded a grand welcome at Namo Ghat. The 500 riders will visit the Namo Book Festival at Namo Ghat, where more than 450 books written on Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be displayed. Regional president Ashok Chaurasia said meetings of district and city units office-bearers will be held on Oct 1, while meetings of fronts, cells, departments and mandals will take place on Oct 2, 3 and 4.
The rally at Jagatpur is being organised on the same occasion. BJP state general secretary Dilip Patel urged party workers to immediately begin work on the responsibilities assigned to them for the rally. At a meeting held at the Circuit House on Wednesday, BJP national secretary and Uttar Pradesh co-incharge Jagdish Patel briefed party leaders about the preparations.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary are also expected to address the gathering. BJP’s regional, district and city units have intensified preparations for Nabin’s visit to Varanasi after his appointment as national president.
