KESCO contract lineman died after suffering an electric shock
Kanpur: A 48-year-old contract lineman died after suffering an electric shock and falling about 25 feet from a pole while repairing a power fault in Kanpur’s Govind Nagar police station area on Thursday evening. He reached the spot with a colleague around 5.30 pm after receiving information about the fault at around 5 pm.
The deceased, Lala, a resident of Auras in Unnao district, was deployed in KESCO’s Udyog Kunj area in Govind Nagar, according to police. Lala was repairing the line atop a pole when the power supply was allegedly restored unexpectedly. He came into contact with the live current and fell onto the road.

He was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition and later referred to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
