Kanpur: A 48-year-old contract lineman died after coming into contact with a high-tension line and falling 25 feet from an electric pole in Jajmau, Kanpur, on Sunday morning.

His family later accused his superior of harassment and alleged that he had been sent to work without any safety equipment. The deceased, Ravi , a resident of Ahirwan, was working near Chhabilepurwa when he suffered an electric shock and fell, his brother Aman said. He was rushed to Kanshiram Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
