Rejinagar BJP candidate Shankharavh Sarkar holds roadshow on Saturday
Rejinagar: Campaigning for the Oct 6 Rejinagar by-election entered its final weekend with parties mobilising across the constituency, while voters remained largely silent in a multi-cornered contest involving BJP , TMC factions, Congress, and AJUP. AJUP chief Humayun Kabir abstained from field campaigning, restricting himself to the party office following police interrogations and the arrest of 34 party workers, including election agent Anisur Rahaman. BJP candidate Shankharabh Sarkar conducted roadshows and padayatras through Begunbari, Kajishah, and Hijuli in Beldanga, alongside Beldanga MLA Bharat Jhawar and Rampurhat MLA Dhrubojyoti Saha. The party is leveraging CM Suvendu Adhikari’s minority outreach speeches and state president Samik Bhattacharya’s rallies to secure support.
Addressing media in Beldanga, Ghosh outlined booth-level monitoring strategies across 315 booths and demanded hotel inspections, strict blockades, and continuous CCTV monitoring to prevent external entry before polling ends Sunday evening.
