They said the integration was particularly useful for commuters whose destinations were away from Metro stations, as RTC buses provided the last-mile connectivity. Some passengers also said it reduced the confusion over finding another mode of transport after getting off the Metro. Bhatti said the pass would make public transport more convenient by allowing passengers to use Metro and RTC services with a single pass. He said the govt was also looking at integrating other modes of transport, including autorickshaws and app-based cab services, in the future. Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the integration would save passengers’ time and effort and encourage more people to use public transport instead of private vehicles. He said the Metro-RTC common pass would be improved based on passenger feedback.
Bhatti, along with transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, ministers Vivek Venkataswamy and Azharuddin, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLAs Ganesh and Naveen Yadav and senior officials, travelled from Begumpet Metro station to Jubilee Hills Checkpost using the common pass. During the Metro journey, Bhatti spoke to passengers and asked about their experience with the pass, particularly while switching from Metro to RTC buses. Transport department special chief secretary Vikas Raj, govt adviser (urban transport-Metro) NVS Reddy, Metro MD Sarfaraz Ahmed, Metro additional MD B Ajith Reddy and TGSRTC MD Y Nagireddy were among those present.
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday travelled by Metro and TGSRTC bus to experience the newly introduced Metro-RTC common pass and interacted with passengers about its convenience.
