Woman ends life with 2 children, police probe marital dispute

Hyderabad : A family dispute is suspected to have ended in tragedy in Vikarabad district, where a woman and her two young children were found dead after they went missing while travelling to her parental village on Friday.

Police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the help of professional swimmers.

Mamatha told her husband that she was travelling to Narayanapur, her parental village, according to police. Pargi circle inspector Kondal Reddy said the investigation was under way and further action would be taken based on the findings. However, she never reached the destination, prompting concern among family members when they were unable to contact her. she allegedly jumped into a well along with Saketh and Janashree near Somangurthi village While on the way. Mamatha’s husband, Raju, is yet to be arrested.

The deceased were identified as Uppari Mamatha and her children, Saketh (8) and Janashree (4), residents of Matugudem village in Pudur mandal. The family was engaged in agriculture.

Based on a complaint lodged by her family members, police registered a case of abetment to suicide and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the deaths.

Police said preliminary inquiries indicated that Mamatha had been facing marital disputes with her husband.
