Following Anand’s complaint, Pachora police booked the three under BNS sections 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt and 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace. Police said this sparked a heated argument between Anand and the former sarpanch, which soon escalated into an alleged physical assault. Pachora police registered a case against former sarpanch Sunil Patil and two of his relatives following a complaint by Anand Patil. Police took the two relatives into custody, while the former sarpanch was not traceable. The special Gram Sabha was convened on Gandhi Jayanti to discuss development works, civic amenities and public grievances. During the meeting, Anand raised the growing mosquito menace and questioned why the fogging machine was not being used. A video of the altercation later was circulated on social media, triggering outrage in the area. The Jargaon Gram Panchayat is currently being run by an administrator. Download the TOI App.
