Mysuru DC G Lakshmikanta Reddy and officials invite Gavi Mutt seer Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara 2026
Koppal : Mysuru deputy commissioner and Dasara Mahotsava special officer G Lakshmikanta Reddy, along with members of the festival reception committee, visited Gavi Mutt in Koppal on Sunday and formally invited Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara 2026. The world-famous Mysuru Dasara 2026 is scheduled to be inaugurated on Oct 11. Because of its massive gathering and religious significance, and appreciated the scale of the annual event, they also viewed photographs depicting the Gavisiddeshwara Jatre, popularly described as the Kumbh Mela of South India.

Reddy said the invitation was being extended on behalf of the Dasara Mahotsava reception committee and requested the seer to grace the occasion. Reddy arrived at Gavi Mutt around 2pm with Koppal deputy commissioner Suresh B Itnal and zilla panchayat chief executive officer Varnith Negi. He handed over the invitation to the seer and requested him to inaugurate the Dasara festivities. Reddy and reception committee members, including Mysuru ZP CEO Yukesh Kumar, Chamundeshwari Hill Development Authority secretary MJ Roopa and deputy secretary M Basavaraj, felicitated the seer with flowers and fruits. The seer invited Reddy and committee members for prasada at the community kitchen. After having prasada, Reddy and Yukesh Kumar climbed the hill at Gavi Mutt and had darshan of the Karthru Gaddige. Reddy and the committee members expressed appreciation for Gavi Mutt’s green surroundings and clean, serene environment. Download the TOI App.
