About 5,230 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, dependants and family members: The wider industry impact

The Tri-Services Ex-Servicemen Rally & Job Fair was conducted at Shivaji Stadium, MLIRC, Belagavi, on Sunday

Belagavi : About 5,230 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, dependants and family members attended a tri-services ex-servicemen’s rally and job fair organised by Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) at Shivaji Stadium. The event offered welfare, medical, legal and employment services, with representatives of 21 Records Offices facilitating pension, SPARSH, documentation, banking and other services. Major General Bharat Mehtani, General Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, said benefits facilitated included Rs 13 crore for 174 personnel invalided out of service, Rs 1.5 crore for 79 military families and Rs 17.5 crore in post-discharge claims benefiting over 3,000 families. The job fair saw 24 companies offer 728 vacancies, attracting 1,470 applicants. Subedar Shantayya, Sena Medal, who participated in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak conflicts, and 103-year-old veteran Sep Dattu Patil were honoured.
